IPWMI Awards Summary

On October 30, 2020, Axiom Managing Partner Alvin Ma helped present several awards at the 1st Hong Kong Insurance Planning and Wealth Management Innovation (IPWMI) Awards, presented by Hong Kong Society of Wealth Management and CT Goodjobs.

The first of its kind within Hong Kong, the awards ceremony aimed to highlight both distinguished professionals, along with young and emerging talent within the financial industry of Hong Kong. In addition, the awards aimed to educate the general public on insurance planning/wealth management, especially into ‘Fintech’ & ‘Insurtech’ innovations that aimed to improve the customer experience when dealing with financial services (in some cases, for the first time). The recognition of distinguished individuals in the industry also aimed to promote good conduct and ethical standards among those working in finance/insurance planning, and reinforce the city’s competitiveness as a financial hub in the Asia Pacific.

Nominees for the awards first submitted a written plan (based on a real client they had previously served), endorsed by their employer/university, the top ten nominees in all three categories were then assessed through individual video presentations, followed by a Q&A session with the judges themselves.

Along with serving on the judging panel assessing candidates, Mr. Ma was onstage to present awards in person, ranging from Distinguished Wealth Management Professionals to winners of the ‘Young Talent’ award, along with several merit awards for recognized participants.

Also present was Dr. King Au from the Financial Services Development Council, who gave a short keynote; highlighting how the year of 2020 dealt with the financial industry of Hong Kong, and suggestions on goals for the upcoming year.
